For the wrinkles of the forehead, between the eyebrows and for those around the eyes, botulinum toxin type A (Botox) is the perfect choice. Positive results can be guaranteed and the majority of them are really spectacular. Th nasolabial fold is treated by injecting fillers of various compositions, also with great results and immediate improvement.

In general terms, consider appliying Botox to expression lines in the upper half of your face: crows feet, between your eyebrows and forhead wrinkles are the most cummon. It can be applied to other parts of your face like the vertical lines of the upper lip, and the active deppresions in the chin, but it is not as usual as the former. The nasolabial furrow does not benefit from Botox, as they are not formed by muscular action. They are corrected with fillers like hyaluronic acid, fat grafts etc.

Botox is suited for dynamic wrinkles meaning the ones between eyebrows, crow's feet, forehead because the reason why they form is muscular movement so we have to relax the muscles in order to soften the skin wrinkle. For the naso-labial folds we use fillers with hyaluronic acid because these wrinkles are static ones meaning they can be seen even with the face relaxed;so for the treatment of this area we have to fill the wrinkles with hyaluronic acid.

Wrinkles that are appearing by mimics are appropriate for Botulinum toxin. The most satisfying regions are upper third of the face (namely glabella, forehead and crows feet), bunny lines besides nose and platysmal bands. We use botox also for marionette lines starting from angle of mouth down to chin. For nasolabial furrow in my opinion botox is not enough. I prefer fillers in this area.

Botox is successfully applied for reduction of wrinkles and fine lines on forehead and around the eyes. Carefully and precisely injected in small quantities, Botox blocks the contractions of muscles that participate in facial mimics. As a result, facial wrinkles or lines, caused by strong contractions of those muscles, are reduced and removed. For nasolabial lines we suggest dermal fillers, such as juvederm, which fill the folds and make one's face looking younger and fresher.

The cosmetic form of botulinum toxin, often referred to by its product name Botox®, is a popular non-surgical injection that temporarily reduces or eliminates frown lines, forehead creases, crows feet near the eyes and thick bands in the neck. The toxin blocks the nerve impulses, temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles while giving the skin a smoother, more refreshed appearance. Studies have also suggested that Botox is effective in relieving migraine headaches, excessive sweating and muscle spasms in the neck and eyes. For more information check out our website at www.niagaraplasticsurgery.com
