RE: Which areas are most commonly treated with Botox?

Botox is mostly used on upper face. In this area the effects are satisfying for both patients and physician. Side effects are rare when done properly. So we mostly use botox for forhead lines, crows feet and the lines between eyebrows namely glabellar lines.

Botox is suited for dynamic wrinkles meaning the ones between eyebrows, crow's feet, forehead because the reason why they form is muscular movement so we have to relax the muscles in order to soften the skin wrinkle.

Most commonly, this procedure is applied to the forehead area, glabellar area (between the eyebrows), lateral of the eyes (the "crow feet" region). It may be used also in a lot of other areas of the head, neck and the rest of the body. Thus there are specific points of injection, there is always the possibility to customize and adapt the treatment to each patient's situation and desire.

The cosmetic form of botulinum toxin, often referred to by its product name Botox®, is a popular non-surgical injection that temporarily reduces or eliminates frown lines, forehead creases, crows feet near the eyes and thick bands in the neck. It generally lasts up to 4 months. The toxin blocks the nerve impulses, temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles while giving the skin a smoother, more refreshed appearance. Studies have also suggested that Botox is effective in relieving migraine headaches, excessive sweating and muscle spasms in the neck and eyes. For more information check out our website at www.niagaraplasticsurgery.com
