Essentially breast implants should last for > 10 years. Typically many women who consider further surgery after 10-12 years are for other reasons, such as breast droop, bigger or smaller implants, capsular contracture. The Implant that ruptures through for example blunt trauma will need to be replaced.
With improved production technology and new materials enable a new generation of implants left in place almost indefinitely. In particular, it has the effect of Multi-tight silicon skin and the use of so-called cohesive silicone gel to prevent the penetration of silicone in the body. So far, it was so, it was necessary for about 10 years old implants replaced because of the material. So we can say that this is a huge step forward.
12 to 15 years ..... Mentor implants are a lifetime. So says the manufacturer.

Hello,
When you chose to undergo a surgery like breast augmentation, it is very important to have all the facts explained to you, so you can make an informed idea of the entire process, right from when you get in the chosen clinic for the first time until you leave the clinic after the surgery is done.
It is very important to chose a clinic which works with good materials, liable, and that includes, of course, the type of implants. Nowadays, it isn`t recommendable to work with implants that only have a warranty for a short period of time. Brands like Allergan Natrelle and Mentor, give you a lifetime warranty and this gives you a piece of mind. They wouldn`t guarantee for a bad product.
In our clinic we only work with these two brands and we didn`t have any problems with them.
Best wishes,

Till present there is no such a role that after certain number of years the implants need to be changed
There is not an especific time. Your doctor will recomend you, how often is necesary see you, and when is necesary an ecography or MR, to determine if your implant need to be changed or not.
