You have change the implants. Here we use silicone gel high cohesivity, but polyiuretane coverture. Some studies indicates that polyiuretane have less contracture chance.

RE: Replacing breast implants

The most frequent cause for removal of breast implants is due to capsular contracture which distorts the natural form of the breast.
Typically, this occures only after many years of implantation.
The scarred capsule is (partially) removed and the implants are exchanged for new ones.

RE: Replacing breast implants

Dear Patient:

There is no exact time to decide to change the breast implants. In general, we recommend changing them every 8 to 10 years, given the different changes that occur in the body of the woman (pregnancy, lactation, body weight changes, aging, etc.).. Similarly, the implant material has changes over time. Immune rejection of the material, extrusion and capsular contracture are other causes of change.

Sometimes it is necessary to change the type of implant. Other times, a mastopexy is also required, and even breast tissue reduction.

Remember that each case is handled individually, with the realization of a complete medical history and a detailed clinical examination. Photographs, ultrasound, MNR, can help but not replace them.

There is not an especific time. Your doctor will recomend you, how often is necesary see you, and when is necesary an ecography or MR, to determine if your implant need to be changed or not.
If the patient wants change the volume, or wants a mastopexy(for example after a pregnancy), so is a good option or replacing.
