I have very large breasts that are not in proportion with my figure. I would like to ask if breast reduction could have an impact on my ability to breastfeed. I am 23 years old and planning to become pregnant in a few years. However, my breasts bring me a lot of discomfort.

Breast reduction has an impact on lactation as during the operation of the glands removed, part of them.
Reduction mammaplasty may in general affect breast feeding. There are different techniques used for reduction but most of them will affect breast feeding, may be the least effect when a central pedicle is used, yet in case of very large breasts I believe that the cosmetic result with this technique may not be so good. In case that breast feeding is not lost, the possibility of developing an abscess is higher than a normal person.
Even though breast feedind may be possible after breast reduction , change in shape and milk cysts can result from breast feeding .
After Breast Reduction you can breastfeed. Most of the modern techniques in use are saving the gland and areola integrity.
depending on the surgical method tha will be used by your surgeon, later breast feeding might or might not be affected.
