I am thinking about breast lift surgery but I do not know much about this procedure. What is the principle of a breast lift, what results can be achieved and for whom is the surgery appropriate?

ICD-9-CM 85.6 Mastopexy (Greek mastos “breast” pexy “affix”) is the mammoplasty procedure for correcting the size, contour, and elevation of sagging breasts upon the chest. In a breast lift surgery to re-establish an aesthetically proportionate bust for the woman, the critical corrective consideration is the (histologic) tissue viability of the nipple-areola complex (NAC) to ensure the functional sensitivity of the breasts for lactation and breast-feeding. The indications for mastopexic correction of breast ptosis are three-fold — physical, aesthetic, and psychological — the restoration of the bust, of the woman’s self-image, and of her mental health.[1] In corrective praxis, mastopexy can be performed as a discrete breast lift surgery, and as a sub-ordinate surgical procedure within a combined mastopexy–breast augmentation surgery. Furthermore, mastopexy (breast lift) surgery techniques also apply to reduction mammoplasty, the correction of over-sized breasts.[2] [3]
The sagging breast skin and gland ,after pregnancies, wheight loss, aging, etc. can be lifted by many different surgical procedures.
