Thank you for your interest and questions.
The use of PK anesthesia is limited only by the imagination of the anesthesiologist and the cooperation of the surgeon.
A small sample of cases I have successfully done with PK: gyn laparoscopy for tubal ligation/fulgeration of endometriosis (assumes modest Trendlenberg/pneumoperitoneum), joint arthroscopy, lithotripsy, herniorraphy, breast lumpectomy, simple mastectomy, microdiscectomy, & sedation for the morbidly obese.
The 'nifty 50' club says if nothing else, outcomes will, be improved giving 50 mg of ketamine to a patient who is asleep (i.e. loss of lid reflex/loss of verbal contact or BIS

Looks like I got cut short...
Use the BIS on facial cases by prepping the sensor, taking care not to be over zealous and have the adhesive get dissolved. Also avoid solution in junction of sensor and cable.
