RE: May shift occure when correcting chin with implant?

When using an implant for chin augmentation, it should be fixed by titanium screws. This fixation will ensure proper position of the implant and prevent shifting.

Hi there!
Firstly, if you chose for the right implant which you fix with the screws, this should never happen. Therefore and for many other reasons I prefer to work with so called "bio materials". I talk about MEDPOR implants (porous ones from polyethylen)
They allow for tissue ingrowth because of its interconnecting open pore structure.
I would never chose for a silicon one, as you can get the mentioned problem, not speaking about another potential risks and complications.
Kind regards,

there are few options to prevent displacement during a chin implant revision.

remove the implant and restart a few months later,
insert a larger implant if a small one is already in place, and
fixation of the implant to the bone for example with a screw for example.

hope this helps.
