Need suggestion on Facelift - Face lift (Rhytidectomy), SMAS face-lift - Forums & Discussion 

I've recently done a SMAS facelift procedure. I'm really happy with the result, although it takes longer to heal than the skin pull type of facelift... weekend lift or whatever it's called.

From my research and consultations a SMAS (3D) facelift lasts about 10 years in some cases longer depending on how you take care of your skin too and more importantly preserves your individuality, what you look like, instead of changing your facial features. Another words, just removes the aging effects, making you look younger but still like your self, and not like you had your face skin stretched in all directions. The reason this type of face lift holds longer is because the surgeon works at the muscle level.

Most important though is to find a real specialist, a face nerve specialist ideally since if the surgeon is not an expert in the facial nerve you are at a much higher risk of complications (potentially paralysis) which is far from the younger looking face that you want!!! There are very few actual face specialists so be careful when picking your surgeon. Even those certified.

Look for someone who ONLY does face/neck not even including rhinoplasty (nose) surgeries since those are very unique too and certainly not a surgeon who does everything from head to toe. That is not a specialist! I ended up finding a facial nerve specialist that I had to fly to a different country to have my facelift done.
