The frontalis muscle in the forehead has an antagonist action vs the orbicularis muscle of the eye lids. When Botox is applied on the fine wrinkles of crows´feet, inhibiting the downward action of the orbicularis, then the lateral aspect of the frontal muscle is unopossed, thus elevating the eye brows. Sometimes this action is excessive, requiring the application of Botox also on the frontalis muscle, leaving only the most lateral portion working to elevate the eyebrows.
This action is not permanent of course, lasting around 4 to 6 months. If a more permanent efect is required, then a lateral suspension of the eye brows with 1-2 inch incitions inside the hairline is more appropiate.

Injectable fillers, and Botox, lead to temporary correction of your forehead wrinkles, and these need to be repeated after a few months. Brow lift leads to a permanent correction and lifting of eyebrows.
