What is tumescent liposuction?

My doctor advised me to remove abdominal fat using tumescent liposuction. What is the principle of the procedure?

Tumescent liposuction involves injecting saline, with local anesthetics like Xylocaine, and some other medicines, subcutaneously into the fat upto "Tumescence". Tumescence is infiltration, uptil the feel and touch is "wooden hard", or "stony hard", of the infiltrated areas. True tumescence must be seen , and palpated. It is the safest form of liposuction, practised worldwide today.

Fluid is injected under pressure that decomposes fat cells and then is done fat aspiration.

Tumescent liposuction is accepted universally. A spesific soltion in administered subcutaneously befor operation.
It provides minimal blood loss and pain free postoperative period.
