I'm about to undergo nose surgery and I have to take leave because of the operation. How long does the healing take and when can I return to work?
How long does the healing take after nose surgery?

Nose surgery doesn't require more than 10 days of postoperative time before a patient can return to his or her everyday activities. Sick leave is, therefore, 8 to 10 days. It is important to avoid harder physical activities for two months after the surgery.

the healing is no more than 10 days , but that depends on the psychology of the patient as well !
good luck all :)
Dear Miss Ladysweet
After 5-7 days. Depending on the the technique(open/closed nose) choosed and association(septoplasty) and intranasal septal splint for functional surgery. Edhema in 15 -30 days go way. And thin/ too delicate edhema can be reducing on 1 year to 1 year and half.
warm regards, Happy New Year
a rhinoplasty requires at least 1 week of convalescence. most or all of the bruising will be gone within two weeks. this means that if you have a very public job you will probably not want to return before that - until you\'re more presentable.
if you work from home or don\'t mind people knowing that you underwent a nose job and more importantly that you do not have a very physical profession, you may even return sooner when the nasal splint/cast comes off.
you will resume all (including boxing) your pre operative activities at 8 weeks after nose surgery.
good luck

If the nose job involves only the tip 2-3 days.If your bone or the septal cartilage need to be repaired 10 days.
A return to normal activity is possible within a few days of surgery. Any packing or splints will be removed after the first week, although is necessary to wear the splint for an additional week. Cosmetics can camouflage any bruising or redness. Healing will continue for several weeks as swelling continues to decrease and the improved appearance of the nose becomes apparent. The patient must protect the nose from injury during any physical activity for the next 6 months.
The result of rhinoplasty will appear gradually over time. At least a year has to pass for the rhinoplasty to show final result. In general, the changes incurred by rhinoplasty are permanent.
dear ladysweet, the healing process of the operated nose depends on two factors.
1. your reaction to surgery
2. your plastic surgeon (type of rhinoplasty, open or closed)
whatever, my final answer is: 2 weeks UNITED COLORS, and 2 months od TIDE!
...after 2 months you will be definitely good looking!
The early recovery time after rhioplasty takes 10-14 days. It means that 14 days after the surgery one can return to work and nobady notice the "nose surgery". It doesn't mean that the nose has its final shape. The total healing time takes at least 1 year. The final result can be expected after one year. Duriing this time sweling slowly disappear, and the nos becomes more and more suble.

Healing after Rhinoplasty takes 7-10 days with suture removal taking place within this time frame. You can join work in 10 days time but you may be still be having bruising around the nose besides swelling in the nose which could be noticed by your co-workers.
Healing after Rhinoplasty takes 7-10 days, but you may be still be having bruising around the nose besides swelling in the nose till 6 months. 80 -90% of the swelling desappear in the first month.
Healing after Rhinoplasty takes 7-10 days.
I agree with the other colleagues. Seven, ten days maximum is the period of healing
The cast is taken off on the 7th day of the surgery, the bruising dissapears in one -2 weeks, 80% of the swelling comes down in a months or so,in 6 months you should have most of your final result, but you can still have sligth swelling up to a year.

Post-surgery recovery
During the first days after the operation the patients may feel their face swollen, with oedema and ecchymoses, especially on the lower eyelids. In this case, cold compresses should be applied which will obviously relieve these symptoms. Usually the oedema and ecchymoses tend to persist in the first week.
Also you should not be alarmed if there is some bleeding in the days after the surgery. By the end of the first week the splints and the stitches will be removed.
During two weeks after the surgery, the straining activities should be avoided. They might boost arterial blood pressure which might bring on some bleeding. With patients that wear glasses, for a period of 6 to 7 weeks, it is not recommended that they should wear the glasses resting on the nasal pyramid.
After the removal of the splints, up to a period of 3 months approximately, a slight oedema may linger on. This will shrink over time.
So, after 7- 8 days you can return to work.
Dear Patient:

Immediately after the procedure the nose is swollen and starts to decrease in size. Usually 7- 10 days is enough for teh leave,. The nose will continue reducing the swelling up to one year.
The basic healing process will take about 10 days yet the new shape will be evident after many weeks or months, when the soft tissues will adapt and contract on the new reshaped frame
Nose job usually requires 8 to 10 days off work. First three days you will have nasal pack inside nose and will be required to rest and cool the neck area. on the seventh postoperative day, the splint is taken off your nose. With some correction fluid and good make up, eventual bruising will be well covered and you will be fit for public appearance.
You should use a thermoplastic splint for 21 days, however you can return to work 7 days after surgery.
