in search of a good nose surgeon

(Discussion to topic Rhinoplasty (Nose job - nose surgery))

in search of a good nose surgeon

I have a big problem (literally). I'm 28 and I hate my nose. I tried to get it fixed and the result was not as bad as the original, but it was still bad. More than bad actually.

I have a "pig nose" or whatever the correct term is. Not only that but it's also crooked / asymetrical. I've looked through the photos of countless clinics and I don't think I've seen a case even remotely similar to mine. Yet I am still searching for that one doctor that could fix my problem.

Here's how it looks now: http://img810.imageshack.us/f/temp1e.png/

and here's how I'd want it to look: http://img805.imageshack.us/f/temp2.png/

I don't want my nostrils to be visible from the front, but especially the sides. I don't even know if what I want is possible ... but hope is all I have left.

If there's any doctor out there who thinks they could solve my problem email me at: bmcdmail2003@yahoo.com or reply here

@Xavier Tenorio, Jens Feyh - I've sent you an email requesting more information

@ GHC – Clinic Prague: I look forward to your email

@ Walter Chiara, M.D: the picture is already in my post, but let me relink it just in case: http://img810.imageshack.us/img810/3521/temp1e.png

@Babak Hatami: well mr Hatami, this is about as ironic as things get because I did my first operation at YOUR clinique. The way my nose looks now is all thanks to you, and while it's not as bad as before, it's still BAD (scratch that - it's horrible). You gave it your best shot, not it's time I let someone else try it.

RE: in search of a good nose surgeon

Dear Mircea:
The Problem of your noes is very obvious, but it can be changed also matching your intentions by insertion of bilateral Spreader grafts and harmonizing the symetry of the nostrils.
The operation may be conducted under outpatient settings.
If you need more information, do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
Sincerely
Dr.Jens Feyh

RE: in search of a good nose surgeon

Mircea,

I can understand your frustration with your results. Rhinoplasty is a very difficult operation technically and has a quite unpredictable healing pattern. In most cases the results are as we see "on the table" (in the operating room). In many cases the healing process changes things to a degree that cannot be predicted and is often difficult to improve.

Having looked through your photos and your desired results I would caution you to be too committed to having more surgery. The results you are seeking require lengthening of your nose. This is one of the hardest things to accomplish in rhinoplasty. It will likely require significant cartilage grafts to create a platform to support a longer nose. Rotating a nasal tip downward and lengthening the nose is difficult in a primary rhinoplasty (first operation) and is much more difficult in a secondary operation. You do not explain the timing of your operation in your post. Generally speaking I would not recommend a secondary operation of this difficulty to be done any earlier than one year after the first operation. This allows for the tissue to become soft and supple. Operating earlier (in my opinion) increases the difficulty and decreases the likelihood of a good result.

There is a saying in plastic surgery that the enemy of "good" is "better". I would urge you to really consider the importance to you of making further changes to your nose. You might end up with little or no change, or possibly worsen your situation. Having said that, if you are absolutely committed to having another procedure I would be certain that you visit with more than one surgeon personally for a live consultation before deciding upon a course of action and a surgeon to help you.

I hope this info helps!

RE: RE: in search of a good nose surgeon

Thank you for your elaborated reply. It does shed some light on the case but it doesn't change the variables of the equation at all.

Apparently I can't make long posts so I attached my full response as an image here: http://img840.imageshack.us/img840/4580/43379791.jpg

I also attached a new pic here further detailing my case:

Now, Mr. Rubinstein ... I noticed your facility is situated in Florida. I should have mentioned in my initial post that I'm mostly interested in doctors / facilities situated in europe. The reason I didn't make this specification in the first place was that it was crucial for me to find a doctor that could help me achieve the desired results, getting there was a secondary problem. Frankly, I'd travel to the north pole and back if I knew I would get my nose fixed.

RE: RE: RE: in search of a good nose surgeon

it is very difficult to promise you something via internet.
a good plastic surgeon has to judge not only fotos but also the ( inner ) scar situation, the septum etc.
Therefore it is important, to visit one (or more ) plastic surgeon, discuss with him the special problems and after having
achieved enough confidence the problem should be resolved. Sincerely Dr.Spitalny

RE: in search of a good nose surgeon

Hey There! Just here to offer my opinion as a plastic surgery patient myself.

I received a nose job and eye lift in South Korea. I have many friends who have also gotten nose jobs in Korea as well. I would have to say all of them have been lucky.

1 in every 10 women have received plastic surgery in that country, meaning there are a lot of skilled doctors.

Check out the site above and look at some pictures. This is a doctor my friend got her nose done from. She had to go through 2 nose jobs, her first job was actually good but after 12 years, the silicone shifted very slightly and she was self conscious. So she researched and found a doctor famous in korea and got her 2nd nose job. As you already know, with rhinoplasty, the 2nd and 3rd time around is very complex adn you need to really be cautious.

I can help you find some more information in South Korea as I know a lot of people in the industry.

Why am I doing this? I want to launch a medical tourism company and want to start by helping people in my own free time. Anyway if you want some more informatio on doctors in Korea, just feel free to email me.

Prices vary depending on your condition and of course the doctor will have to see you. I know the average price of a nose job the 2nd or 3rd time around is more costly. I can\'t imagine you paying more than 10K though. I was looking at a revision myself and they quoted me 6K-7K.

Hope you find a good surgeon! I think anything is possibly. I know this girl who got it done 4 times, she looks great. Although she did say no doctors will perform surgery anymore.

Here is my email: ksk226@nyu.edu! BYE!

RE: in search of a good nose surgeon

Rhinoplasty or nose surgery, sometimes referred to as "nose reshaping" or a "nose job," increases the appearance and proportion of your nose, enhancing facial balance and self confidence. Surgery of the nose may also correct uncomfortable breathing caused by structural disproportion in the nose
