Secondary Rhinoplasty Advice

Hi,

I had a rhinoplasty with Dr. Jan Bouda in Prague and my nose looks worse than before. He says is because of my healing process but the shape he has made has nothing to do with the healing process of my body.

He cut too much of the tip of my nose which was not necessary, since the original angle was correct, put the tip up and now my nostrils are visible with one looking bigger than the other, didn´t narrow the bridge of my nose enough, filed to much of the bone between the eyes. Wide which was the opposite of what I wanted and now cartilage needs to be inserted to correct what he did and make the tip like it was before.

I´ve been told that consequently my surgery really difficult and the results uncertain.

Any advise?

Thank you.

Hi Vampi09,
I apologize your experience - obviously your rhinoplasty has not been conducted due to your desires. Very important is to wait at least six month to go for a revision surgery. Then there are multiple options to re-shape the nose with cartilage grafts from your nasal septum and/or ear. Even augmentation of the bone between the eyes - the glabella - may be done with this material.
It would be a lot easier to answer precisely to your questions if your sent pictures and tell the date of the previous operation.
Sincerely
Jens Feyh, M.D.

Any revision rhinoplasty is difficult and results are uncertain. But it is possible to make your nose look better.
Please send photos before surgery and now(if possible few pics from different angles). sos.dario@gmail.com

Hi Drs. I looking for the best doctor in Europe for nose augmentation. I actually had a nose job for 7 months ago in Sween but no happy with the results. My nose looks too small and i would like to shape it down a little and make slimmer and straight. I apreciatte if there are some good Docs in Europe that can help me without using silicone implants cuz i had a big nightmare with it few years ago ..Best regards ..A

RE: Nose revision surgery and change of shape

Hello. On the two pictures you put on the site, it seems your nose has been a little forshortened with a slightly overrotated tip (too much nostril show. It looks also as if it's a little too broad.
Your nose could probably be lengthened a bit and the tip should be pushed downwards; the nasal bridge should also be narrowed a little.
Those types of secondaries are quite frequent after too much resection, especially in men. They're very specialized, as cartilaginous grafts may be needed as a "scaffold" to lengthen the nose, especially if there's a lack of tip support.
Best regards and good luck

revision rhinoplasty

i would have to agree with my colleague dr gerbault who has properly assessed the results of your previous rhinoplasty.

keep in mind that rhinoplasty is one of the most difficult cosmetic surgeries to master.

i\'m also certain there are a few good rhinoplasty surgeons in your country.

before engaging in another surgery,, i would recommend you consult 2 - 3 plastic surgeons surgeon who have experience in rhinoplasty.

good luck

RE: Secondary Rhinoplasty Advice

Hello!
I WOULD not RECOMMEND you to turn for help to Dr Dolezal. He operated my nose in December last year. I have picked up this surgeon because I liked his “after” pictures. I had had my nose operated before and I was looking for the surgeon that could address my problem. Many surgeon I turned to with request honestly explained Toto me that they were not sure if they could help me. For Dr Dolezal it was not a problem!! As a result, he did not recognised my problem, I which was a polly beak deformity ( coursed by excessive resection of my cartilage by previous surgeon). He cut my cartilage even more. My nose does not have support at all now!!! When I have tried to reach this guy telephone he avoids me. This operation was not that cheap for me because I came from another country. Do not fell for the title "board certified surgeon" either. Dr Dolezal is a board certified surgeon. When I looked carefully at his certificates, there is none in rhinoplasty.

Good luck

revision rhinoplasty recommendations

i\'m sorry to hear that your surgery did not give you the results you were looking for.

before looking around for another surgeon:
- wait at least 12 months after the last rhinoplasty
- return to see the original surgeon at least 2 more times (at least 3 months apart)after you discover that you are not happy, and
- see what the original surgeon recommends
- ask the original surgeon if they are able to do something for you,
- if the original surgeon can\'t offer you a solution(too complex & beyond their expertise for example), ask them if they can refer you to someone that they trust and who they believe is competent in rhinoplasty surgeries.

i will repeat myself again:

- rhinoplasty is one of the most difficult cosmetic surgeries to master.

- if you have a good rapport with your original surgeon return to see them, i\'m sure most will try to offer a solution` or at least a good alternative.

- so before engaging in another surgery, i would strongly recommend you consult 2 - 3 plastic surgeons who have experience in rhinoplasty.

be wise in your decision making

RE: revision rhinoplasty recommendations( To Dr. GERBAULT)

Hi, I do agree that we usually wait a year after a surgery before performing a secondary, to let the woung healing process to finish. However, we can have an appointement with our patients prior to this delay, to assess the existing problems.
The total price for a secondary rhinoplasty is between 5500 and 6000 euros. It's quite expensive of course, but it's a lengthy and meticulous operation that should be performed only by very experienced surgeons. The more the reoperations, the more it becomes impossible to fix the existing problems!
Best regards

RE: Secondary Rhinoplasty Advice

I agree with other colleagues, wait at least one year to get revision surgery, your first surgery had excesive tissue resection, aparently now u need an augmentation rhinoplasty using cartilage grafts, columnella graft shortening to address tip overrotation, and nasal bridge narrowing
Good luck
