What can be done with my nose? (born with a cleft pallet)

I was born with a cleft pallet, and I'm looking into rhinoplasty. I've already recieved 2 prior procedures. I've been thinking about this since I was 10, now I'm officially looking into this.

So, what can be done with my nose? I obviously want it more symmetrical, slimmer, and a tad bit smaller. What can be done?

If you have had a cleft lip and palate the nose deformity is very, very complex especially if you have had previous surgery. You must see an expert cleft surgeon preferably, or an expert rhinoplasty surgeon. Do your home work!

A thorough examination inside the nose should be done. Ususally open rhinoplasty is selected. There are several techniques that can be used and your surgen will explain you.

Hello i was also born with bilateral Cleft lip and Palate and im having Septorhinoplasty in exactly 9 hours. I chose to stick with my Surgeon who is a specialist in Cleft Lip as well as rhinoplasty but i would most certainly recommend you choose someone with a history in dealing in Cleft Lip cases; my surgeon highlighted that due to my Cleft Lip the surgery would take up to 5 hours and be a lot more complicated. Im hoping for my nose to be smaller, more symmetrical, slimmer and loss of the droopy nose tip... so fingers crossed for tomorrow. Sooo nervous right now, my Surgery is at 7 in the morning so i think im going to do an all nighter on this, there is no way i will be able to sleep.

Your surgeon will tell you to review what can be done.Without reviews and photos, I can not say anything.

Nose asymmetry as result of cleft lip and palate are harder to work. You can improve it without doubt, but please choose an experimented surgeon, preferable with expertise in cleft lip and palate

Indeed that is a more difficult operation but can be done succesfully by an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon. It envolves more sophisticated procedures like grafts and flaps, but the reward is wortful. We have done recently a case of a 20 years old boy operated 14 times before (in Romania and Germany as well) for cleft lip and palate. He is extremely happy with the result, not only cosmetic but also functionally he can breath much better! Dr. Porumb

Um, hey. This is the Original poster. Just wanted to let you know I had things worked out. I had scar revision and fat grafting to my lips, and they were also leveled. The next step is orthodontics, and then the nose job. But thanks for your help anyway.

Cleft lip and palate it's a condition that has to be repaired by a expert surgeon. In Mexico we have a lot of experience with this condition, we can do a lot for your nose.

I also want it to say that your condition it's not only a cleft ip-palate, looking only the picture it may be also a 0-14 fissure, but to be sure of that exploration it's needed.
