What type of anaesthesia is used during nose surgery?

(Discussion to topic Rhinoplasty (Nose job - nose surgery))

What type of anaesthesia is used during nose surgery?

I wonder what type of anaesthesia is used in rhinoplasty, is it general or local? Can I choose the type of anaesthesia?

It can be done under local anesthesia with general sedation or under general anesthesia. It dipends on surgeon's used technique,on clinical evaluation and on patient wish.

The nose job can be done under local or general anasthesia. However some surgeons prefer to do it under general anasthesia only especially when osteotomies or bone reshaping is required, for the simple reason that it may bleed & it is wise to secure the airway during surgery.
