Will the scars after nose surgery be visible?

Will the scars after nose surgery be visible?

I would like to undergo plastic surgery of the cartilaginous and bony part of my nose. Will I have any visible scars after the surgery?

RE: Will the scars after nose surgery be visible?

In open rhinoplasty, the scar is minuscule (3-4mm) located on the columella (skin between the 2 nostrils) and is inconspicuous after few months if the operation is well performed.
In closed rhinoplasty, the scars are inside the nostrils
Sometimes, scars are done on the alae in the alar groove to reduce alar flaring.

If it is closed rhinoplasty all the scars are inside the nose. For open rhinoplasty there is a small scar on the columela. If the nostril size is reduced during surgery, additional scars can be seen at the base of the nostrils.

if the bony part of your nose is more disturbed, deformed, i believe that your doctor will perform the closed rhinoplasty, without any visible scar. if the problematic is the tip of the nose, where mostly the framework is of cartilaginous tissue, possible is that it will be performed an open rhinoplasty procedure....with a small, slightly visible scar on the collumela , between the nostrils.

The scars after nose job are hidden. There are no visible scars after a closed nose job.Even after open rhinoplasty, the culumellar scar is on the hidden part & barely visible.External osteotomy scars also heal well

RE: Will the scars after nose surgery be visible?

1.For resection of medial cartilages, and bony part of your nose, surgery is usually performed from inside of your nose ( closed rhinoplasty ), and there are no visible scars.
2. If resection of your nostrils is planned ( resection of alar cartilages ), open rhinoplasty is performed, and fine scars come in the nostril folds. They can become imperceptable with resurfacing techniques.
3. If SNTL ( Khawajas Suture Nasal Tip Lift ) is planned, there is a pin-point scar on the columela, which is not noticeable.

Kind Regards

if your surgeon use the method of closed rhinoplasty, there will be be no visible scars,if he use the open rhino method, there will be a small scar on the collumella that will fade out with time.

It depends on the kind of technique chosen. If a "traditional rhinoplasty" technique has been performed, no scar will be visible. With an "open rhinoplasty" technique, a scar at the base of columella will be visible.
