Tummy tuck after twins and a umbilical hernia operation??

I've recently had twins (march '11) my waist size increased by 25 inches/ 60cms whilst pregnant so now I have a really bad over hang tummy. I also had to have a umbilical hernia operation (sept 11) - so is it still possible to get a tummy tuck? how long will I have to wait before I can have one?
Also is anyone up for the challenge to make my stomach flat again?? :)

RE: Tummy tuck after twins and a umbilical hernia operation??

The ideal situation is 6 months after to stop give milk breast for them and at least 6(six) months after they were born.

In aditional..is better if you have ideal weight and do exercises and diet(nutritional selection/reeducation) with nutritionist or endocrinologist, after making hormonal and check up exams.

If you have these conditions as right you can turn yourself a good candidate for another step for planning the surgery after choose your surgeon.

Good lucky in your choice

Warm regards to you and family

RE: Tummy tuck after twins and a umbilical hernia operation??

After watching the profile photos...don't substitute personal consultation...where we evaluate the more or less segments will go out...and distance/size of the scars and together, we discuss the position of the scar.

Most of part of the striae will go out. Not all will go out. And we like to leave belly bottom scar hidded on the beggining hole of it. And inferior scar on the bikini's mark(you have to bring it, in delta fly way or not/ horizontal way or intermediary), and taking out another possible scar if possible.
If you wish more details, let me to know and, please, contact us.

Dear Bex

First of all, congratulations on your twins (I hope you're getting some sleep!). The short answer to your question is YES. Despite your recent hernia operation, an abdominoplasty is still possible. However, I would wait until at least Spring 2012 before having your surgery for 2 reasons: first of all to allow your abdominal skin to settle down as much as its going to after your twins, and secondly, so that the scarring from your umbilical hernia repair matures sufficiently.

Hope this helps

RE: Tummy tuck after twins and a umbilical hernia operation??

Dear Patient:

The surgical procedure of choice in pregnancy sequelae of hernia surgery is the Tummy Tuck. The type of abdominal wall reconstruction depends on each particular case. In general, we combine abdominoplasty with liposculpture, with excellent results.

It is important that the patient has very good health, commitment to a healthy lifestyle (sports daily balanced diet) and choose a qualified plastic surgeon in a specialist clinic and certified.

Remember that each case is handled individually, with the realization of a complete medical history and a detailed clinical examination. Photographs, ultrasound, MNR, can help but not replace them.
