TT Recovery

Hey, So Im am like dreaming and thinking about my TT 24-7. I have pre-op May 14 and a full TT, lipo and botox June 4th. I am returning to work 10 days post-op and Im a nurse. After seeing all these online videos, Im not sure if that's possible. What do you thinl? Also, Imy childhood friends wedding is 8 days later. Do you think I could make it through the reception? My surgeon is 3 hrs away, Im thnking my doc I work for or a co-nurse will take my drains out. Im so scared of the Pain. Is it really bad? Ive had 3 c-sections..Im a size 15/16, about how many sizes do you go down? Thanks

Hi Laura,

I won my tummy tuck with lipo a year ago and I am the girl in the video on this website.
I had the same worries and concerns and to be honest the worrying part is probably the worst!!
If I am honest you will find returning to work difficult, mainly because of how tired you feel after the proceedure. Your body will have been through alot and its using all your energy to repair. You are probably still going to experience discomfort and feel rather stiff at the 10 day point, so you'll just have to try take it easy.
As for the wedding. I had complete rest for 7 days after my op and I was walking around the shops of Prague by the 8th day.It was a steady walk, but I am sure that the wedding reception will be no problem for you.
I was dreading the drain removal as I has heard it was very painful. To be honest it is so quick you don't even realise its happened. I seem to remember asking my surgeon "was that it?"!!!!
The pain is absolutly no where near what you are probably anticipating. You say you have had c-sections, well the same tight feeling on the scar is how you feel after the tummy tuck. For the first two days I took whatever pain medication was on offer but then realised that I didn't really need it and was just taking the odd paracetamol.
My best advice is to really rest in the first week, drink plenty of water and don't worry. Just think of that final result. Its worth it!!
As for dress sizes, everyone is different. I think you will find you self in about a 14 on your waist, but it does depend on how much skin you have to take away.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask away.
All the best
Helen

I think you also ought to rest after all of these activities. :-) Although it is alright, still it is advisable to rest and take a breath - to relax cos sometimes "stress" can be a triggering factors to some odds along the recovery phase after some surgeries.
