How long is the incision in abdominoplasty and where is it placed? I'm worried that the scar after the procedure will be too visible.

Hello,
The incision is placed on the pubis and extended laterally following the elastic mark of your favorite underwear.

One or more incision may be to perform an abdominoplasty. The full tummy tuck involve a horizontal incision between the public hairline and the naval. The shape and length of incision will be determined by the surgeon regarding the correction required from the procedure.

Hello,
The surgeon performs the first cut in the lower abdomen, under the line of the pants and the second cut round the navel in ord er to remove the tissues around it. The skin and the subcutaneous tissues are then peeled off till the proximity of the ribs.

The incision usually runs from hipbone to hipbone, and may be in a V-cut or U-cut shape so that you can hide the scar in a two piece bikini. The initial tummy tuck incision begins with a horizontal incision across the lower abdomen. As this procedure requires cutting, a tummy tuck
scar is a certainty. The full abdominoplasty, or tummy tuck, involve a horizontal incision in the area between the pubic hairline and the navel. The shape of the incision, and its length, will be determined by the plastic surgeon according to the degree of correction necessary from
the procedure.
Hi
The art of scar placement is to try and ensure that the scar will be covered by swimware or under ware. However the first thing that you need to do is understand which procedure you require. The mini tummy tuck is for patients with excess skin and stretch marks below the tummy button, whereas a full tummy tuck is when you have problem areas above the tummy button. There is also another procedure that is for patients who require a tightening of the stomach muscles and removal of fat which can be done through an endescopic procedure which leaves a small scar above the tummy button. I would suggest that you have a consultation with a surgeon first to agree on the procedure and he or she can provide you with some before and after pictures of patients who have had the same procedure with a similar frame to you.
The abdominal scar for an abdominoplasty surgery will be located in the area above pubic region. The incision will extend to both sides towards the flank area.
I hope this clarifies things for you.

The scar is located over the pubic bone, most of the time following the semicircular skin crease of the lower abdomen. The lenght depends more on your body type, since very thin patients can be corrected with smaller incitions, making it necesary to prolong the wound in larger women to correct loose skin and fat tissue over the "love handles".
The incision is sovrapubic, between the iliac crests. There are variants of the incision, according to the surgeon preference and to the preoperative evaluation of specific cases.
There are many incisions and it is purely surgeons and patients choice. Most of them would be concealed within your bikini line.It could extent from ASIS (anterior auperior iliac spine) from one side to another. May extend beyond this sometimes.
Tummy Tuck Enhancing your appearance with a tummy tuck A flat and well-toned abdomen is something many of us strive for through exercise and weight control. Sometimes these methods cannot achieve our goals. Even individuals of otherwise normal body weight and proportion can develop an abdomen that protrudes or is loose and sagging. The most common causes of this include: . Pregnancy . Aging . Significant fluctuations in weight . Heredity . Prior surgery What it won’t do: A tummy tuck is not a substitute for weight loss or an appropriate exercise program. Although the results of a tummy tuck are technically permanent, the positive outcome can be greatly diminished by significant fluctuations in your weight. For this reason, individuals who are planning substantial weight loss or women who may be considering future pregnancies may be advised to postpone a tummy tuck. Also, a tummy tuck cannot correct stretch marks, although these may be removed or somewhat improved if they are located on the areas of excess skin that will be excised, generally those treated areas below the belly button. The scar usually is placed below the 'bikini line'. Is it right for me? Tummy tuck surgery is a highly individualized procedure and you should do it for yourself, not to fulfill someone else’s desires or to try to fit any sort of ideal image. Abdominoplasty is a good option for you if: . You are physically healthy and at a stable weight . You have realistic expectations . You are a non-smoker . You are bothered by the feeling that your tummy is too large
Scar is planned in the region still low over the pubis, and when you are in underwear it is not seen.
There are variations to the procedure dependant by correction necessary to achieve a good result. Incisions length and pattern depend on the amount and location of excess skin to be removed, as well as surgical technique.
the incision is at bikkini line, lower part of your abdomen.
the incision of abdominoplasty depends upon what exactly you are getting done .If its a total abdominoplasty then the scar is extending from one iliac bone to other below your waist line.If it is a mini abdominoplasty then the scar is smaller , the dissection lesser and the umbilicus is not mobilized to create a neo umbilicus. In both cases your plastic surgeon would place the scar well inside your undergarments what you usually wear and with time the scar fades out.
In vast majority of cases is placed following previous Csection scars enlongating it. When patients are free from scars, we try to hide it in biquini lines
That is a long scar, but it must lie hidden by the underwear or swimsuit
Main scare is in the lower abdomen, and a circular scar around the belly button.
it is placed just above the pubic hair and not visible
