My wife is suffering from varicose veins problem in both legs. A brief detail of latest Doppler report is given here-under;
Right Leg:
Multiple dilated (4mm-upper 4mm) tortuous venous channels are seen starting from the ankle upto above the mid thigh. Connection between the superficial and the deep veins are noted due to the incompetent perforators at the following sites;
i) Upper calf medially
ii) popliteal fossa medially
iii) lower thigh medially
iv) upper thigh medially
v) upper calf posteriorly
vi) popliteal fossa posteriorly
A long vein is seen parallel to long saphenous vein from ankle to mid thigh, and joining with it at upper calf and upper thigh levels. The right short saphenous vein continuous as vein of giacomini in posterior thigh. Proximal long saphenous vein distends upto 06mm on valsalva maneuver.
Left Leg:
Multiple minimally dilated (3mm-upper 4mm)tortuous venous channels are seen starting from the upper calf upto above the mid thigh. Connection between the superficial and the deep veins are noted due to the incompetent perforators at the following sites;
i) upper calf medially
ii) lower thigh medially
iii) popliteal fossa posteriorly
Both saphenofemoral valves appear mildly incompetent. Both the saphenopopliteal valve appear competent. Femoral, poplital and tibial vessels were examined. Venous system showed normal compressibility with no internal echos. Normal augmentation was seen in the deep venous system.
IMPRESSION:
VARICOSE VEINS BOTH LEGS
BILATERAL INCOMPETENT PERFORATORS
NO EVIDENCE OF DVT
Please advise me what I should do further, as she is feeling pain in her both legs. I will be very thankful for your suggestions.
