Libuse Bartosova, M.D.
After graduating from the Medical Faculty of Charles University in Hradec Králové in 1974, she started working at the Department of Physiology of the Medical Faculty, as a lecturer. Later she worked as a physician at the Department of Internal Medicine in Brandýs nad Labem. Her ophthalmologic career began when she started working at the 2nd Department of Ophthalmology of the Faculty of General Medicine in Prague, first as a physician and then as a specialist physician of the glaucoma outpatient ward. She focused on diagnostics and the treatment of glaucoma, including medication, laser and surgical treatment. She graduated from level I postgraduate specialty training in ophthalmology in 1982, and from level II postgraduate specialty training in ophthalmology in 1988. During her involvement at the eye department, she participated in teaching students and in scientific research on glaucoma. She has attended numerous ophthalmologic meetings and been published in scientific literature. From 1999 until August 2004, she worked in private outpatient ophthalmology in Prague. In September 2004 she joined the team of physicians at the Private Eye Clinic, where she continues to work on glaucoma issues.
She is a member of the Czech Ophthalmological Society, the Czech Society for Contact Lenses, the Czech Glaucoma Society, and the European Glaucoma Society, and is a foreign member of the American Academy.
