Profile of clinic

The Centre of Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery specializes closely in operations of skin tumours, the diagnostics of which is performed in cooperation with dermatological department of the University Hospital Ostrava, where the melanoma commission operates. The department further specializes in the hand surgery issue - congenital defects, injuries, microsurgical procedures and subsequent reconstruction procedures in full spectre. We also perform plastic surgery procedures solving the issue of covering a soft tissue defect on the whole body surface that cannot be solved by routine surgical procedures, including the reconstruction of breast regions after performed surgical operations due to tumour disease. We also provide full spectre of cosmetic procedures - firstly adjustment of breast, face, abdominal wall, liposuction in any locality, adjustment of auricles and, last but not least, we also perform specialized procedures in the area of urology-gynaecology-surgery. We perform therapeutic procedures using the laser technique where we have more than six years of experience. We provide 24hour reattachment emergency for amputation injuries of upper extremity.

Our team of department physicians comprises plastic surgeons and specialists in plastic surgery; they receive continuous expert training at reputable clinics in Brno and Prague.

The care of patients is also the dominance of the team of nurses with special training in plastic surgery together with other auxiliary staff acquainted with the issue as well.

Absolute discretion is a matter of course in respect of cosmetic and other operations performed at our department.

The department physicians work in relation to the Prague and Brno clinics of plastic surgery. All physicians participate actively in both domestic and international symposiums.

Structure

The Centre of Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery consists of the patient department and outpatient section. The patient department has 23 beds with one bed box having high-standard equipment.

The outpatient section has a daily operation during working hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Outpatient operating room together with laser centre form a part of the outpatient operation.

History

The Centre of Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery at the UH Ostrava - Poruba was founded in 1995 by the chief physician MUDr. Petr Česaný, who came from the plastic surgery in Třinec where he had worked as the chief physician of the department since 1978. Since 1996, the Centre of Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery is led by the chief physician MUDr. Bronislav Vřeský.
