Bojan Ignatovski, M.Sc., M.D.

Cosmetic Surgeon

Bojan Ignatovski, M.Sc., M.D., was born in Zletovo, the Republic of Macedonia, where he finished primary and grammar school. He took his degree in medicine from the Medical School of the University of Zagreb. In the course of his studies he conducted scientific research and took an active part in two student congresses (Opatija and Ohrid).

He specialized in general surgery at the Medical School of the University of Zagreb, and passed his final examination in 1980. He finished post-graduate studies and defended his master’s thesis on “The choice of drainage procedures in treating exogenous secretion in experimental pancreas transplantation” at the Medical School of the University of Zagreb in 1989.

He finished his specialization in plastic-reconstructive surgery at the Medical School of the University of Zagreb, passed the finalexamination and obtained the title of a plastic surgeon. He was trained in cosmetic surgery in France.

He completed the training in children’s surgery at the Zagreb Children's Hospital, Klaićeva (1988), and took courses in micro-surgery and traumatology in 1989/1990 at KBC Rebro, Zagreb.

He regularly attends all post-graduate studies in plastic and cosmetic surgery and is an active participant in all congresses in plastic and cosmetic surgery. He has been a full member of the Croatian Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery since its founding. He is also a member of the Croatian Medical Association and the Croatian Medical Chamber.

He participated in the Homeland War from August 1, 1991 to September 30, 1992. He actively participated in the treatment of the wounded in the area of Daruvar and Pakrac. He described his experience in the article entitled “Extent and Doctrine of Treatment of the Wounded in the Area of Daruvar”. A book is currently being prepared about the army medical corps in Daruvar, dedicated to all medical servants from that area and a team of physicians from the Republic of (then) Czechoslovakia.

He has lived and worked in Daruvar since 1991. In 1992, he opened the first cosmetic surgery clinic in Croatia. Since 1997 he has been the owner and manager of the Polyclinic for Surgery, Gynecology and Plastic Surgery, He is a father of two, daughter Biljana, physician, and son Ivan, a student at the Faculty of Economics and Mechanical Engineering, Maribor, Slovenia.

So far he has published over 20 reports and research papers in the field of general, children’s, plastic and cosmetic surgery. He is a co-author of a special edition of Diabetica Croatica.
