Karolina Kykalova, M.D.

Karolina Kykalova M.D., corrective dermatologist, specialist on laser and aesthetic medicine, she works in the field for more than ten years.

She studied at First Faculty of Medicine at Charles University in Prague, where she graduated in 1995. In 1998 she passed an attestation in the specialty of dermatology and venereology, in 2001 she passed the attestation in the specialty of corrective dermatology.

She was at several specialized internships: laser therapy of company Sharplan (1998 in Israel), laser therapy of company Coherent (1999 in USA). She took part also on internships at the department of plastic surgery under direction of chief surgeon Dusan Zaruba M.D..

Already during studies she began to work in the branch of cosmetics and cosmetology, she systematically achieved special needed education: course of cosmetics for surgeons (V. Fertekova and assistant professor O. Fertek M.D.), course of aromatherapy, lymph drainages (As.Prof. Bechyne), special cosmetic courses by Vichy, Biodroga, Haarologie and others. During her job at the dermal clinic she worked also at special clinic for healing of chronic wounds, two years at the consulting center Vichy. Until 1997 she worked at the First Dermal Clinic Apolinarska 4 Prague 2, where she lead special out-patient department of cosmetology, then she worked at Institute of Medical Cosmetics.

In 2000/2001 she worked in the private Skin Care Center in Prague 4 and from autumn 2001 at the Institute of Aesthetic Medicine. At the same time she worked in the private dermatological clinic in Prague 9 under direction of T. Frey M.D..

She works also in other possibilities in aesthetic dermatology - laser therapy, application of skin implants, botulinum toxin, dermatological surgery, cryotherapy.

She takes part at international congresses IMCAS /International Meeting Against Ageing Skin) and at specialized trainings. Since 2000 she works as a reference surgeon and training surgeon for a company Asclepion Meditec AG (Aesthetic Group) for Central and Eastern Europe.

At Institute of Aesthetic Medicine – Center of laser and aesthetic dermatology she works as a corrective dermatologist, specialist on laser and aesthetic medicine. She is a president of Czech Podiatry Association – international group for care of feet and associated problems.

She is a member of Society of Aesthetic and Corrective Dermatology and EADV – European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology and Czech Society of Dermatology and Venereology. She publishes in specialized and popular press, she makes presentations.

She is a co-author of a book Laser aesthetic surgery (chapter Laser epilation).
