Doctor Vera Satankova, M.D. is an expert in plastic and aesthetic surgery. She graduated from the Faculty of General Medicine, Charles University (Prague) and received an attestation first in general and then in plastic surgery. She started her professional career at the Plastic Surgery Clinic in the faculty hospital of Kralovske Vinohrady, Prague, where she worked for ten years as a researcher in the department of burn injuries. Following this, she performed operations as a fellow plastic surgeon and was also a tutor for medical students at Charles University.
She then started to work at Medical Aesthetics Institute, but founded her own clinic of aesthetic surgery in 1994 – it was one of the first and most popular clinics of its kind in the Czech Republic.
From 2007 to 2010 she was an expert adviser for plastic surgery in the USA. During her career, she has also completed several professional internships in the Netherlands and Germany. At present, she is the head surgeon of the aesthetic surgery department at OB klinika, Prague.
Doctor Satankova is a member of many medical associations, for example the Czech Association of Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Allergan Academy. She is also a member of The Czech Medical Chamber and The American Medical Association.
She has published extensively in the area of plastic and aesthetic surgery and has also discussed the topic in the media.
