Jiri Zahlava, M.D., PhD.
Curriculum Vitae
He graduated from the First Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in 1995. After completion of studies, he started to work at eye clinic I of the General Teaching Hospital in Prague.
He passed the first degree of the qualification examination in ophthalmology in 1998.
He passed the second degree of the qualification examination in ophthalmology in 2002. He participated in teaching students of medicine. He focused on cornea and orbit diseases and neuroophthalmology.
Since 2000 he has been working under the leadership of prof. Karel in the JL Eye Clinic and specializes on posterior segment diseases. He focuses heavily on peak examination methods and performs laser examination of the retina.
He also focuses on plastic surgery.

- Yellowish choleserol deposits (Xanthelasm)
He has contributed with a lot of information at home and foreign ophthalmology meetings. He defended his CSc. dissertation on "OCT of age-related macular degeneration".
He is a member of the Czech Society of Ophthalmology, Czech Vitreoretinal Society and European Society of Retina Specialists.
