I had a upper and lower eyelid surgery 5 month ago and my lower eyelid appears puffy no matter what I do.
After the surgery I had the usual cooling packs and upright position in bed to enhance the healing. After three weeks the surgant advised, as the puffiness didn't subside satisfactory, to have LPG treatment to stimulate the lymph flow. In total I had 20 LPG treatments.
Today 5 month after the surgery my lower eyelids look worth than before.
KIndly advise what I should do best.

Good morning
My question is why did you have a lower blepharoplasty? The approach is external and this why you have this oedema. You have to wait and if there is no improvement within one year, you can have another procedure to improve the appearance.Until then you can do daily massage and may be the application of gause with warm water for ten minutes daily.Sometimes it helps

Hello Nike
Thanks for your query regarding eyelid surgery. As I can see you have been operated by external approach but in picture after surgery you are having prominent eyelid fat . I think you need revision of eyelid surgery and filler or fat grafting to fill the depression at lower border of eyelid.

We have been doing blepharoplasty for more than 30 years now. In the last 30 years, we cannot recall even a single patient, who had eyelid swelling for such a long time and who was otherwise healthy. You need a revision blepharoplasty of lower lids for the hidden fat pads, which have become more prominent after your surgery. There can also be hypertrophic orbicularis oris muscle and both fat and muscle need to be addressed properly in order to achieve excellent results. Our plastic surgeon, Dr H A Khawaja, has developed the "KHAWAJA'S NON_SWELLING BLEPHAROPLASTY", an excellent technique, in which you walk out of the clinic after your blepharoplasty, with no swelling at all. The technique has been extensively published in the form of articles and book chapters in various cosmetic surgery books and Meso-American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery on-line.
