I had an upper and lower eyelid surgery 3 weeks ago. We quickly realized that my left eye is not evenly match the right eye and it has a visible sharp notch and I could not close my left eye completely (startled looking eye). The stenches were out at 1 week pot-op. At the 2nd post-op visit, Dr. performed a procedure: flipping the upper eyelid over and made 3 incisions to the inside tendon or muscle. After this, the sharp notch became moderate, but I still the startled looking eye. Dr. told me that I may need the same procedure for another 2-3 time in order to lower the eyelid. I am very concerned about this procedure. Is this the common/appropriate procedure to fix the high eyelid? I am going to seek a second opinion from another doctor, but I will appreciate some answers from the WWW as well. thanks

Dear Kiki,
I suppose you had normal eyelids before the surgery and you did a aesthetic surgery. If this is true, a regular aesthetic blepharoplasty should not touch or change the position of the lid. It is possible that somme complication happen with adhesion of the lid elevator muscle and it should be liberated but I think it is very dangerous to do the same procedure again too soon and specially for another 2-3 times as you say. One single surgery should solve the problem. I also agree with you to seek a second opinion, with an specialized surgeon. Best wishes. Julio Morais
