Just how painful is the recovery after smas face and neck lift? What are the symptoms you feel in the face and head
after surgery? I'm planning to undergo a facelift this year.

There is no pain. Some bruising and swelling that’s all.
You gonna feel some prick, pinch... this is the healing.

It is a more superficial feeling. Some people can feel a bit of superficial pain in areas of key sutures, but that’s only temporary. Also, your face will be swollen for two days, you need to know that before and it’s best to stay in the clinic during that time.

As a matter of fact, this kind of surgery is among the most rewarding and least painful operations you can ever do. Just very limited bruises during the first week, Almost no pain, some discomfort, and back to normal daily activities the day after the operation, some restrictions about heavy training, movements, articulation during the first week!

Dear Greta,
You will not have such a pain. You will only have an itchy feeling and some discomfort only and some bruising as well. Tell me when you would like to have the SMAS lifting done.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Kind regards,

I am doing facelifts since 1985.
You don't need to expect pain, Greta. Some of my patients complain about pain in the region of os mastoid (behind the ears).
Due to swelling you might have a tide feeling on neck and cheeks for about 10 days.
Make sure you get operated by an experienced Plastic Surgeon, Greta!

Best regards,

Dr. med. Paul J. Edelmann.
