I had labiaplasty a week ago today, I still have extreme burning/stinging when I urinate. My swelling has gone down a lot!
When will this go away? Is this completely normal? Should I be concerned ?? HELP!!
Hello mar,
one week after labioplasty there should not be an extreme burning and stinging when you urinate.May be there is a wound healing problem. There should be a follow up appointment with your surgeon as soon as possible not to overlook a major problem.

I went to my surgeon 5 days after surgery and he said everything was fine. He said the burning and stinging was normal when I urinate. I also have 2 big bubble like swelling and he said that was just normal swelling. Im starting to doubt that seeing as they are not going down..

Hello mar,
as the symptoms really are as you describe try to have one more appointment soon with your surgeon. If this does not work for your safety I recommend a "second opinion" from an experienced surgeon/gynecologist working in this field .

Extreme burning and stinging when you pass urine after Labiaplasty is not normal. Drink a lot of water and take more fluids. If it persists, get a second opinion from a urologist regarding status of your urinary tract and then a plastic surgeon or gynecologist working with labiaplasty.

It is only one week you had surgery. But you can have after this surgery a cystitis. You should go for urine exam in a laboratory and if necessary take antibiotics.
You have to talk about this to your surgeon.

Hello Mar,
Please take the time and schedule an appointment with your surgeon as soon as possible. The symptoms you describe may have many different causes. The healing process of the suture should be careful supervised by your surgeon and the stitches should be well cared and kept clean.
