I’m getting married on April and I’m planning to have a nose job
this month from Dr. Omar Fouda Neel’s cosmetic surgery clinic in Montreal. My fatty nose has always bothered me. Now I’m nervous about the possibility of this surgery, but it’s something I want to do. Is 3 months time enough to recover from swelling or pain? Just wondering if anyone has had one before their wedding.

If you are planning to undertake a conventional Rhinoplasty especially in general anesthesia, 3 months is not enough time to recover completely from swelling, though you will be be pain free at this time. Swelling in case of frontal rhinoplasty ( soft part rhinoplasty ), can take from 6-8 months or more to subside completely. In exceptional cases, it might take even longer than that.
Dr.Khawaja has pioneered several state of the art mini-invasive and non-invasive Rhinoplasties. Swelling is minimal or non-existent and recovery is quickest and fastest. Final recovery in case of tip improvement for instance takes 3-4 weeks. These scarless mini-invasive Rhinoplasties are the best option for you if you are looking for quickest healing time. There are no complications. On the other hand results are excellent and permanent. There are no stitches that need to be removed. It is walk in walk out surgery and takes just 10 minutes in local anesthesia. You can fly back home as soon as same day in the evening or the very next day.

3 months is ample time for the pain to go, but the swelling might take 6-12 months, If you have a large deformity that will be corrected by the surgery, then even with the residual swelling , your nose will look better. If you have a minor deformity, then it might be better to postpone the surgery.

In majority of cases it settles by 3 months but I always say it can take up to a year to fully see the improvements.

For the pain yes of course, but not for the swelling. It will be ok but the swelling wil take more months to get to normal, one year aprox.

Once the surgeon has completed the procedure, the nasal tissues are replaced and incisions are closed. Tubes and splints are added to the nose in order to promote healing and support for the next week to ten days as swelling begins to subside. Swelling usually lasts for a few days before the results can be fully seen. Often times, it takes the nose up to a full year of healing to see the ultimate results.
