In open rhinoplasty, the scar is minuscule (3-4mm) located on the columella (skin between the 2 nostrils) and is inconspicuous after few months if the operation is well performed.
In closed rhinoplasty, the scars are inside the nostrils
Sometimes, scars are done on the alae in the alar groove to reduce alar flaring.

If it is closed rhinoplasty all the scars are inside the nose. For open rhinoplasty there is a small scar on the columela. If the nostril size is reduced during surgery, additional scars can be seen at the base of the nostrils.

if the bony part of your nose is more disturbed, deformed, i believe that your doctor will perform the closed rhinoplasty, without any visible scar. if the problematic is the tip of the nose, where mostly the framework is of cartilaginous tissue, possible is that it will be performed an open rhinoplasty procedure....with a small, slightly visible scar on the collumela , between the nostrils.

1.For resection of medial cartilages, and bony part of your nose, surgery is usually performed from inside of your nose ( closed rhinoplasty ), and there are no visible scars.
2. If resection of your nostrils is planned ( resection of alar cartilages ), open rhinoplasty is performed, and fine scars come in the nostril folds. They can become imperceptable with resurfacing techniques.
3. If SNTL ( Khawajas Suture Nasal Tip Lift ) is planned, there is a pin-point scar on the columela, which is not noticeable.

Kind Regards

if your surgeon use the method of closed rhinoplasty, there will be be no visible scars,if he use the open rhino method, there will be a small scar on the collumella that will fade out with time.

It depends on the kind of technique chosen. If a "traditional rhinoplasty" technique has been performed, no scar will be visible. With an "open rhinoplasty" technique, a scar at the base of columella will be visible.

There are two types of rhinoplasty: closed and open. In closed rhinoplasty scars are inside the nostrils so can't be seen. In open rhinoplasty there is a very small scar, about 3 mm with at the base of the nose, which usually heals so well that is hardly seen even for a specialist. More than that, to be seen, you bust recline your head backward to show your nostrils, which is pretty unusual in a normal social activity. Anyway I don't consider that is an issue for choosing the type of rhinoplasty: closed or open, let your surgeon decide what fits you best. In some more difficult cases, you just can't do it right with the closed method, you need to do it open in order to get the best result.

Scars are normally invisible and hidden inside the nose. When surgery is a second rhinoplasty it should have a small visible incision in the columenla.

The exact scarring can be discussed after consultation. But after open rhinoplasty the visible scar is only at the columella which is well hidden.
