In the clinic Altos, located in the center of Prague, laser resurfacing is one of the most popular treatment among clients, who desiring to have a health, young and elastic skin.
What is laser resurfacing?
Laser resurfacing is a method of removing the upper layer of the skin, and with it pigmentation, enlarged pores or acne scars. In contact with skin, laser radiation promotes activation of various enzymes, as well as the proliferation of connective tissue cells of fibroblasts that actively participate in the synthesis of the extracellular matrix and contribute to the formation of new collagen and elastin. Both of this proteins are needed to keep the skin smooth and firm.
The result of laser resurfacing is the correction of small and deep age wrinkles, elimination of pigment spots, acne scars and skin irregularity (so called “post-acne”), as well as total skin renewal. As with other procedures, laser resurfacing can be performed only after prior consultation with a physician.
The new generation laser CO2 SmartXide2
To provide effective treatment, Altos clinic uses a fractional CO2 laser, which works by a pulsing technology. Laser identifies points on the skin in a grid-like form and transforms light energy to warm. That contributes to evaporating upper skin tissue and activation of regeneration processes, which promote the formation of new tissue and start the formation of new collagen. The result is smoothing and unification of the skin, wrinkle refinement and rejuvenation.
With the help of condensed points of the laser rays forming the so-called grid impacting on the skin and transforming into thermal energy, the upper skin tissue evaporates, activating the regeneration processes that promote the formation of new tissue and start the formation of new collagen. The result is unification of the skin color, wrinkle smoothing and rejuvenation.
Laser therapy can be used not only on the face, décolleté, the back of the hands but also on all parts of the body, and it is especially effective in the treatment of stretch marks. It can also be combined with other aesthetic methods, for instance, with blepharoplasty.
The procedure and recovery period
Before the laser treatment, a local anesthetic cream is applied on the area of skin which will be treated. In 30 minutes after the application of the cream the skin is completely prepared to the treatment, which lasts approximately 1 hour.
Recovery period is normally not longer than a week, as a rule without complications. A few weeks after the treatment, the skin should be protected from direct contact with the sun's rays. It is recommended to use high-SPF creams.
If you are looking for a truly effective method of eliminating skin imperfections and improving your skin appearance, laser resurfacing is the best solution. Contact Altos clinic for more information about the treatment.
