Closed revision rhinoplasty after previous open rhinoplasty

When I was 16 I got hit with a ball of ice outdoors at high school. My nose was broken and left me with a deviated septum. When I was 20 years old I went to a clinic in a nearby city to get it fixed, not knowing the complexity of such a procedure and level of experience needed from the surgeon to get this done successfully. The surgery failed and left me hopeless for a solution.

The problems that arose after the first surgery were quite some asymmetries, a hanging tip due to a lack of support (the surgeon was not supposed to do anything about the tip), an open roof on the right side and the septum was still deviated. They offered me to fix the problems with another surgeon and although he was able to fix some of the problems that occurred after the first operation, I was still left with a deviated septum and some asymmetries.

For about 5 years I put it aside to get on with my life but was always bothered about what happened. There was a lot of regret and wanting that I never walked in that clinic in the first place. But at the same time it teached me a lot and made me humble already at a quite young age. From 2017 onwards I have been starting to research the possibilities and after two consultations with other surgeons I came across Prof. Palma’s work and immediately scheduled a consultation with him.

Palma knew EXACTLY to point out what's wrong with my nose. There were 9 so-called complaints that he identified as possible areas of improvement. Something I’ve read before is that he takes the time needed to understand his patients and their wishes and that was true for me as well. This gave me the confidence to choose Prof. Palma as the last surgeon to ever touch my nose again and with success. He restored my nose quite a bit in the way it looked before ever getting surgery, but with more finesse and I can breath as never before. The most important thing for me was a straight nose, so actually getting the septum fixed, with masculine profile and that worked out quite well.

Most that is written in these reviews I experienced myself. He cares a lot for his patients, takes the time that is needed to prepare and the results speak for themself. What I think is really important to say is that because of the experience of Prof. Palma you will be sure that you will get the best result while taking the minimal amount of risk for complications because EVERY little detail is discussed and planned out before the surgery. O, and the nurses in the hospital are great!
