Sean M. Carroll MB BCh FRCSI FRCS(Plast) MD
Sean M Carroll is a consultant plastic surgery in St Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin 4 and has special interest in cosmetic surgery, general plastic surgery, hand surgery and micro surgery.
Sean qualified from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and did hid basic surgical training in Dublin before starting his plastic surgery training first in Dublin, then in Oxford and London. Sean then moved to Cork before going to the USA where he did research into methods for improving muscle flap survival in Plastic surgical operations. This work was awarded the prestigious higher degree of MD from UCD.

Sean then joined the staff of the Sick Children’s Hospital , Toronto for a year and then did a Fellowship in Cosmetic Surgery in the Toronto Institute of Cosmetic Surgery.
Sean has over twenty publications in national and international journals with many of these being in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the most widely read and respected of all plastic surgery journals.
He continues with his research still and his area of interest now lies in the development of skills training and skills assessment in plastic surgery. He has help develop, together with The royal College of Surgeons in Ireland skills assessment parameters currently in use and is an advisor to a plastic surgery research doctor in this area. Sean sits on a number of College committees and will continue to represent the interest of plastic surgery as best he can.
In 2000 Sean returned to Dublin and has been a consultant plastic surgeon in St Vincent’s University Hospital
since.
Mr Sean M. Carroll MB BCh FRCSI FRCS(Plast) MD is a fully accredited specialist plastic surgeon, registered with the Irish Medical Councils and a consultant plastic surgeon in St Vincent’s University Hospital Dublin 4, Saint Michaels Hospital Dun Laoighre and visiting consultant to The National Rehabilitation Hospital Dun Laoighre .
He is on the Specialist Register in Plastic Surgery with the Irish Medical Council and is a full member of the Irish Associations of Plastic Surgeons (IAPS), a full member of the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) and a full member of the Irish Association of Hand Surgery.
Mr Carroll has admitting privileges to the Beacon Clinic Dublin 18, the Blackrock Clinic, County Dublin, Saint Vincent’s Private Hospital, and mount Carmel Hospital, Dublin 14.
